... More than
just a place
to stay—

An authentic 145-foot-long log
cabin, built in the 1920s Sprucewold
is a unique lodging experience. It is the
last remaining log lodge of its size and
kind this side of the Mississippi River.

“...It has a rustic feel of the
past but is still comfortable
and pleasant in the 21st century.”

Sprucewold’s lodge is an
authentic log cabin, built
log-on-log in the 1920s.
Our rooms are cozy and
decorated to complement
their exposed log walls and
rustic log cabin atmosphere.
Each of 26 rooms has its own
character (and a private bath).
Of the 26 rooms, 4 have a
connecting room which shares
a bath, making them perfect
for a for a family of four or five.

Our public rooms and spaces
make the lodge and dining hall
perfect for reunions and group
travel—there’s always a spot to
spend time with old friends, or
make new ones!!

The lodge lounge room is the
spot where guests gather to
chat, play games, or curl up by
the fire with a good book.

Its front porch is a perfect place
to read the newspaper with a
cup of coffee on a fall morning.
Or, perhaps you’d like to share
a bottle of wine with someone
special in the late afternoon.

The rear porch is a cool oasis
with its overhead paddle fans.
The perfect quiet spot to read
a book on a hot summer day.

7:00 AM coffee & tea are waiting
in the lodge lobby for early risers.
And, if there’s a chill in the air,
the fireplace is sure to be going!
Or, wander over to the dining
hall and catch the news and
weather on the big-screen TV.

Our buffet breakfast, included
in the room rate, is served in
the the dining hall. Regardless
of your breakfast preferences,
you’ll enjoy a great meal.
